Arthur was raised on a varied diet of boogie woogie, jazz, sixties rock and funk, along with all manner of classical music. Although he first started playing piano aged eight, it was playing double bass at twelve years old that really fired his passion for making music, overdubbing songs on home stereos and playing along with his parents' records.

Arthur was soon gigging with his musical mentors in both a big band and smaller ensembles, and discovering the electric bass in pop bands. He effectively absconded from university and helped found the Acid Jam, a monthly jam night in London, which still hold occasional events today. Based in London and the Oxfordshire countryside, Arthur runs a recording studio and also produces, composes and promotes every genre of music imaginable.
