I was reading an interview the other day with Paul Weller, he is just releasing his book Wake Up The Nation which is all about the music industry having no bollox everything is safe and a safe bet which ultimately means the music becomes dull as artists want to impress record companies not scare them off. In turn the radio stations want to play safe music by good looking bands and so on. This has been going on and on, so all we here are golden oldies or over produced songs, which if you strip them down are not particularly good songs.
Take us lot for instance New Groove Formation a 21st Century Ska band we have in fused all genres beats and licks to come up with some electrifying material, its not safe but it works.
Its a shame that the A and R guys don’t want to rock the boat cause we do!!!!!!
